Anna has more than a decade of experience practicing healthcare law as both in-house counsel to hospitals and health systems and as an advisor to healthcare providers and healthcare facilities in private practice. As former in-house counsel to a large hospital system, Anna specializes in complex physician compensation structures and has participated in a wide range of business-critical strategic and operational healthcare initiatives, including co-management agreements, medical practice acquisitions, and other physician alignment strategies.
In addition, Anna specializes in advising physician networks on matters related to clinical integration, antitrust compliance, MSSP ACO and ACO REACH program compliance, and value-based contracting. She focuses her practice exclusively on healthcare law, advising a range of healthcare clients on day-to-day operational and compliance matters, including federal and state fraud and abuse laws such as the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Civil Monetary Penalties Law; Medicare/Medicaid requirements and reimbursement; licensure and accreditation; telemedicine; HIPAA; and other laws impacting healthcare operations, including tax exemption laws. Anna also has experience leading compliance investigations and audits.
PRIOR EXPERIENCE & REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
Advises independent physicians and physician practices on key legal issues in private practice, including structuring practice acquisitions and navigating complex regulatory and compliance matters.
Advises hospitals, integrated payor/provider systems, physicians and practice groups, and ancillary services providers operating across the U.S.
Advises health system senior executives, medical group leadership, and governing bodies on complex physician compensation strategies and provides representational support in connection with physician alignment strategies, including co-management agreements, professional services agreements, and medical director agreements.
Advised a 19-hospital, religiously affiliated system on issues related to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Services.
Advised a Florida-based physician network on the development of an accountable care organization, successful approval for participation in the ACO REACH program, and ongoing compliance with CMS requirements.
